Jaunimo linija expands to Šiauliai, seeks new volunteers

Jaunimo linija, an organization providing free emotional support to young people via phone and internet, is launching a new volunteer recruitment campaign this autumn. A significant development in this campaign is the establishment of a new branch in Šiauliai, marking the organization's first expansion into this region. Previously, branches operated only in Vilnius, Kaunas, and Klaipėda.

The organization is seeking volunteers aged 18 and older across Lithuania. While some recruitment is remote, the new Šiauliai branch aims to build a local community. Prospective volunteers do not require psychological training or prior experience; instead, they must undergo approximately four months of preparatory training to learn how to provide emotional support and active listening skills.

Jaunimo linija receives approximately 50,000 requests for help annually. The organization emphasizes that the volunteering experience offers profound personal growth and life skills that extend beyond professional resumes, such as empathy, boundary setting, and the ability to navigate difficult conversations.
