Javed Akhtar and Mohammad Vakil release new ghazal ‘Baazahir Kya Hai’

Lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar and singer Mohammad Vakil have collaborated on a new ghazal titled ‘Baazahir Kya Hai’. The track is a key part of the album ‘Hamare Shauq Ki’ and will be officially released on the music platform Goongoonalo.

The composition explores the philosophical distinction between external appearances and true internal satisfaction. Vakil, who rose to prominence after winning the ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ mega finals in 1997, has blended classical Indian ragas with contemporary Western musical elements to interpret Akhtar’s poetry.

Goongoonalo aims to present the rich heritage of Indian classical and light music to younger generations by blending traditional ghazal intimacy with modern arrangements.
