Javier Cremades warns against judicial pressure at Polish Constitutional Tribunal

During an international conference at the Constitutional Tribunal in Poland marking the institution's 40th anniversary, Dr. Javier Cremades, president of the International Association of Lawyers, addressed the issue of judicial independence.

Cremades cautioned against using financial tools to exert pressure on the judiciary or influence judicial positions. He noted that while political divisions and executive interference in justice systems are global issues, the judiciary serves as the final defense of the constitution. Regarding the situation in Poland, he acknowledged the country as a vibrant democracy while noting the specific ongoing challenges surrounding the Constitutional Tribunal.
