Javier de Irízar begins second term as Advisory Council president

Javier de Irízar has taken office for a second five-year term as the president of the Advisory Council of Castilla-La Mancha. He was re-elected unanimously by the council members during a ceremony held at the Cortes regionales.

In his inaugural speech, Irízar emphasized the importance of the constitutional project and the consensus reached during the Spanish Transition. He noted that regional autonomy serves to bring power closer to citizens, while also highlighting the responsibility that comes with decision-making capacity. The Advisory Council is tasked with providing legal guidance to the regional government and performing oversight functions to ensure democratic stability.
