Javier Gutiérrez honored with Calpurnia de Honra award

Spanish actor Javier Gutiérrez has been honored with the Calpurnia de Honra award at the OUFF film festival, recognizing his consistent and coherent career in cinema and television.

In recent reflections, Gutiérrez discussed the evolving landscape of his profession, noting that the distinction between film and television has blurred due to increased immediacy and the influence of algorithms. He emphasized the importance of rehearsal and the foundational role of theater in an actor's development.

Regarding his personal life, the actor expressed growing dissatisfaction with living in Madrid, describing the environment as becoming ‘hostile.’ He cited the rise of vacation rentals as a primary issue, noting that in his own residential area, more than half of the properties have been converted into tourist accommodations, making urban life increasingly difficult.
