Javier Hernández defends Chivas stint, says criticism was aimed at club management
Mexican striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernández posted a video on his YouTube channel to clarify remarks made at a press conference with USL Championship side Atlético Dallas. He said his comments about his recent period with Club Deportivo Guadalajara (Chivas) were directed at the club’s administration, not its supporters, adding that his love and respect for the fans remain "intact".
Hernández explained that during his second spell at Chivas he felt abandoned by the organization during difficult moments, citing a low output of four goals in 41 matches and a missed penalty in the quarter‑finals against Cruz Azul. He contrasted this with his first tenure, when he scored 29 goals in 79 games and won the 2010 Bicentenario top‑scorer award, which later led to his move to Manchester United.
