Javier Milei attacks journalists and opponents at Faro Foundation event

Argentine President Javier Milei delivered a heated speech at a Faro Foundation event following his dismissal from the $LIBRA legal case by federal judge Marcelo Martínez de Giorgi. During the address, Milei used aggressive rhetoric against political opponents, business leaders, and members of the press.

He specifically named five journalists—Hugo Alconada Mon, Carlos Pagni, Paulino Rodrigues, Natalia Volosin, and Luis Novaresio—labeling them as corrupt and accusing them of being bribed. Milei characterized his critics as part of a status quo that must be dismantled to rescue Argentina from its current economic state. He concluded his remarks by stating that those he deems bad actors should be “burned in the bonfire,” invoking a distorted version of an Adam Smith quote to justify his lack of mercy toward his detractors.
