Javier Milei calls US aid claim dishonest and backs Malvinas flag display

President Javier Milei said it is "intellectually dishonest" to claim that the United States "saved" Argentina, noting that the U.S. contributed only $2.5 billion of the roughly $70 billion speculative attack on the peso, less than five percent of the total. He argued that such statements exaggerate the impact of foreign assistance.

Milei also defended the Argentine national football team’s display of a Malvinas flag after its victory over England at the World Cup, describing it as a sporting gesture rather than a political act. In the same interview he reaffirmed his belief in the innocence of former chief of staff Manuel Adorni and criticised journalists he said act on behalf of special interests.
