Javier Rodríguez appointed president of Spain's Ruta del Vino de Rueda

Javier Rodríguez, owner of Bodegas Rodríguez y Sanzo, was elected president of the Ruta del Vino de Rueda at its General Assembly on 30 July, succeeding Marta Santander Martínez‑Bujanda, who led the association from November 2021. The transition occurs as the body continues to implement its long‑term strategic roadmap.

During the previous term the association produced the 2022 Plan Director, a comprehensive blueprint developed with partners such as ACEVIN, the Junta de Castilla y León, the Provincial Council of Valladolid and the Consejo Regulador of the Rueda DO. Building on that plan, the 2023 Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan was secured with €1.58 million from the EU NextGenerationEU recovery fund, enabling projects to improve visitor experience, promote the destination, digitise services and preserve wine‑related heritage.

Rodríguez has pledged to maintain the continuity of these initiatives and further strengthen the region’s enotourism profile.
