Javier Saldaña pledges support to Beatriz Mojica in Guerrero
Javier Saldaña Almazán, the former rector of the Autonomous University of Guerrero (UAGro), has announced his full support for Beatriz Mojica Morga, the coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of Transformation and Sovereignty in Guerrero. Following an internal Morena process where the two had competed for the coordination role, Saldaña called on his supporters and social activists to unite behind Mojica.
Saldaña stated that he is offering his team’s experience to support Mojica’s project, emphasizing that unity is strengthened through diversity. He noted that his goal is not personal gain but to ensure that the activists and social fighters who supported his campaign are recognized and visible within the movement.
In response, Mojica proposed establishing a dialogue table to address social issues in Guerrero, including unfinished infrastructure projects, poverty, and the ongoing impact of the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa students. The meeting in Chilpancingo aimed to foster inclusion and collective work toward the defense of the ‘4T’ political project.
