Javier Vargas performs blues-rock concert in Gondomar

Javier Vargas and the Vargas Blues Band performed a free concert at Praza da Paradela in Gondomar as part of the summer cultural activities organized by Atlántico, the Gondomar Council, and the Xunta de Galicia through the “Concertos do Xacobeo” program.

During the two-hour performance, Vargas played a mix of career classics and material from his recent works, including the album “Down Under Blues,” which was released in a book-disc format titled “Historias de la carretera.” The setlist included established hits such as “Hard Time Blues” and new tracks like “Down Underground” and “Magic Train.”

Vargas also used the event to debut “Mojo Rising,” a new single featuring Bobby Alexander, which is scheduled for release on September 14. The performance included tributes to blues pioneers, such as Prince Phillip Mitchell.
