Javon Hargrave faces season-ending Achilles injury
Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Javon Hargrave is likely to miss the remainder of the season due to an Achilles tendon injury. The injury occurred during the Packers’ 31-7 victory over the Chicago Bears when Hargrave fell without contact in the fourth quarter. Head coach Matt LaFleur indicated the injury “doesn’t look good,” and Hargrave is expected to undergo an MRI to confirm the diagnosis.
Hargrave’s injury follows a similar loss for Green Bay, as linebacker Edgerrin Cooper was also sidelined for the season with an Achilles tear last week.
In the same matchup, the Chicago Bears suffered hamstring injuries to linebacker T. J. Edwards and cornerback Tyrique Stevenson. Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is reportedly “close” to returning from a Grade 2 hamstring strain.
In other NFC North news, Detroit Lions linebacker Devin White is expected to undergo surgery for a broken forearm sustained during a win against the Arizona Cardinals.
