Jawa Tengah and East Kalimantan Sign Rp20.2 Trillion Economic Cooperation Deal

The governments of Jawa Tengah and East Kalimantan signed a cooperation agreement that estimates a total economic potential of roughly Rp20.2 trillion. The pact, signed by Governor Ahmad Luthfi of Jawa Tengah and Governor Rudy Mas'ud of East Kalimantan in Samarinda, covers trade in food commodities, livestock and animal health, industry, fisheries, tourism, creative economy and financial services. It aims to boost inter‑provincial trade, create new market channels and reduce reliance on central‑government budget transfers. The agreement also includes joint projects linked to the development of the new national capital, IKN. Both governors described the deal as a model for other provinces seeking mutually beneficial collaboration.
