Jawaharlal Nehru University professor accused of sexual harassment by 10 students
At least 10 students at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) have accused a professor of sexual harassment, prompting an investigation by the university’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).
The complaints, which were reportedly submitted approximately one month ago, include allegations of inappropriate sexual advances and lewd or offensive remarks made during classes. Some students alleged that the professor, who resides on the university campus, invited them to gatherings at his residence where the misconduct occurred.
The matter gained broader attention after senior students came forward with similar allegations. The ICC is currently examining the claims and may interview former students as part of the inquiry. While the university's internal mechanism is active, the Delhi Police have stated that no formal police complaint has been filed regarding the matter so far.
