Jaworzno apartment fire leaves two people requiring medical care

A fire broke out in an apartment on the second floor of a multi-family building in Jaworzno on the night of August 31 to September 1. The incident occurred on Chopina Boczna Street shortly after midnight.

Two people required medical attention: a male resident who escaped the building before emergency services arrived, and a 45-year-old woman who was evacuated from the apartment. Both individuals were conscious when treated by paramedics and taken for further medical examination.

Preliminary findings suggest the fire may have been caused by a candle left in the unit. Firefighters spent approximately 2.5 hours extinguishing the flames, ventilating the premises, and checking for hazardous gases. The scene was subsequently handed over to the police.
