Jaws production history explored in new comic book
A new comic book titled ‘Les dents de l’enfer’ explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes production of Steven Spielberg’s 1975 classic, Jaws. The work chronicles the difficulties faced by Universal Studios during the filming process, which was marked by technical failures and near-disasters.
Key challenges included the mechanical shark malfunctioning due to saltwater damage and the sinking of the Orca fishing vessel during production. Despite these setbacks, the film became a massive commercial success, attracting 67 million viewers and establishing the modern blockbuster economic model.
