Jaxon Smith-Njigba joins NFL history with historic start
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has achieved a historic statistical milestone through the first three games of the 2026 NFL season. With 27 receptions, 405 receiving yards, and 6 touchdowns, he is only the second player in NFL history to reach those specific benchmarks in the first three weeks of a season, joining Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison Sr., who accomplished the feat in 1999.
Smith-Njigba is currently averaging nine catches, 135 yards, and two touchdowns per game. This performance follows a record-breaking 2025 season in which he earned Offensive Player of the Year honors after recording 1,193 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
The Seahawks hold a 2-1 record this season. In addition to Smith-Njigba’s production, quarterback Sam Darnold has contributed to the team's offensive success, while the defense has seen notable performances from Leonard Williams and Ernest Jones IV.
