JAXPORT extends Talleyrand railroad lease with Watco

JAXPORT management has approved a six-year extension of the lease agreement with Jacksonville Port Terminal Railroad, a subsidiary of Watco Companies, to operate railway lines within the Talleyrand Marine Terminal. The agreement includes four additional one-year renewal options, which could extend the total contract duration to 10 years.

The Jacksonville Port Terminal Railroad operates approximately 11.17 miles of infrastructure that provides direct connections to the CSX and Norfolk Southern rail networks. This connectivity allows for the efficient transport of various cargo types, including automobiles, chemicals, agricultural products, intermodal containers, and paper products, linking the port to northeastern and midwestern markets in the United States.
