Jaxson Dart focuses on discipline ahead of second NFL season
New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is preparing for his second NFL season with a focus on improving discipline and technical accuracy. After a rookie campaign where he transitioned from the bench to the starting role, Dart recorded 2,272 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions, alongside 487 rushing yards and nine scores.
Former NFL offensive lineman Brian Baldinger has cautioned Dart regarding his aggressive and reckless playstyle, noting that his propensity for embracing contact led to frequent injuries last season. To mitigate this, Dart is working on his ability to throw off-platform and from different angles, a skill he attributes to his background in baseball.
Additionally, Dart aims to improve his consistency and release time. Last season, 39.1% of the pressures he faced were categorized as self-inflicted, ranking him first among 42 quarterbacks who faced pressure on at least 40 dropbacks.
