GOT7 leader Jay B reflects on past controversies and new music

Jay B, the leader of the K-pop group GOT7, has released his third single, ‘Chptr. 1’, marking a shift toward a pop-centric sound featuring synthesizers and electronic elements. The release includes the track ‘Honeydew’ and the fan-favorite song ‘Sweetie’.

In recent interviews, Jay B addressed past personal life controversies, including a 2021 incident involving inappropriate photos during a live broadcast and a 2023 social media messaging controversy. He expressed deep regret, stating, “I think I was careless in the past,” and noted that he previously failed to fully recognize the responsibilities that come with being a celebrity.

Reflecting on his career transition from JYP Entertainment to his own agency, 528Hz, Jay B discussed the balance between the resources of a large agency and the creative autonomy of working independently. He also noted that he maintains a positive relationship with producer Park Jin-young, recently sharing his new music with him.
