Jay Weinberg cites legal restrictions as barrier to musical collaborations
Musician Jay Weinberg has revealed that prior legal restrictions prevented him from collaborating with other artists, a situation he described as detrimental to his creative process.
Following his departure from the band Slipknot in the fall of 2023, Weinberg has engaged in various musical projects and released collaborative works. In an interview with Loyal to the Craft, he noted that he previously worked on material with others while knowing he could not legally release it due to existing obligations.
Weinberg shared that his recent collaboration with the duo Softcult, a song titled ‘Drown Fountain,’ was an idea he originally conceived in 2013. He expressed that being able to finally release such long-held material provides emotional gratification and closure.
