Jayapura healthcare services focus on budget stability and service oversight

Healthcare service stability is being prioritized in Jayapura, Papua, through proactive budget management and oversight.

RSUD Jayapura has implemented a reserve fund strategy to ensure the continuous availability of medicines and medical consumables. Acting Director Andreas Pekey stated that the hospital’s status as a Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) provides the necessary flexibility to manage revenue and fund services sustainably. Despite budget pressures caused by efficiency measures and the formation of new autonomous regions, the hospital maintains that medical supplies remain secure and patient services, including surgeries, are unaffected.

Simultaneously, BPJS Kesehatan is conducting supervisory visits to ensure optimal healthcare delivery for National Health Insurance (JKN) participants. During a visit to the Sentani Community Health Center, Supervisory Board Member Lula Kamal emphasized the importance of non-discriminatory service and adherence to regulations. The oversight aims to identify operational hurdles, such as data entry issues and medicine availability, to facilitate necessary improvements in the region.
