Jayapura police detain driver after fatal collision involving toddler

A fatal traffic accident occurred on Jalan Raya Abepura, in front of the Korem 172/PWY Office in Padang Bulan, Jayapura, on Sunday afternoon. The collision involved a red Daihatsu Ayla and a Honda Beat Street motorcycle.

The driver of the Daihatsu Ayla, identified as 26-year-old RM, has been detained by the Jayapura City Police (Polresta Jayapura) to undergo legal proceedings.

The motorcycle passengers, who were members of a single family, sustained various injuries. Syors George Ehaa (23), a security officer at Cenderawas大学, sustained abrasions and lacerations. Priskila Rica Pulalo (26) also suffered minor injuries and was released from the hospital. However, a three-year-old child, Monica Ehaa, succumbed to severe head injuries while being transported to Bhayangkara Hospital.
