Jayawijaya Regency implements administrative and economic data initiatives

The Jayawijaya Regency government and local agencies are implementing several administrative and developmental initiatives. The Department of Community and Village Empowerment (DPMK) clarified that village funds for 328 villages are being utilized for administrative training and the procurement of laptops to improve governance capacity, rather than being cut.

Simultaneously, the Civil Registry Office is socializing population data management programs to regional agencies to improve regional planning. In the digital sector, the Acting Head of the Communication and Informatics Office, Imanuel Herman Medlama, received an award from the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs for his role as a digital government change agent.

Regarding economic data, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) is working with the Jayawijaya Regency government to accelerate the 2026 Economic Census. The census, which covers 40 districts and 328 villages, faces challenges due to difficult geography and public awareness. Current completion rates vary across the Papua Pegunungan region, with Jayawijaya at 55.56%, Mamberamo Tengah at 74.17%, Yalimo at 55.65%, and Tolikara at 90.72%.
