A dispute continues between former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels and Louisiana State University regarding the reassignment of his No. 5 jersey. Daniels' representatives issued a cease-and-desist letter to the university, prohibiting the use of his name, image, or likeness in relation to the decision. In response to the tension, former LSU running back Leonard Fournette publicly supported Pickett by gifting him a No. 5 necklace, stating, “Gotta bless the 5.” While LSU head coach Lane Kiffin defended the decision to honor recruiting commitments, the situation has drawn significant social media scrutiny and criticism from fans.
