Jayesh Ranjan to take voluntary retirement from IAS

Jayesh Ranjan, a senior 1992-batch IAS officer and current Special Chief Secretary for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Area and Urban Development, has announced plans to apply for voluntary retirement (VRS).

Ranjan stated he intends to submit his application in the coming months once he completes his current critical assignments within the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority limits. His decision comes nearly a year ahead of his scheduled retirement.

Reports suggest Ranjan was previously considered for the position of Chief Secretary of Telangana, a role that was instead appointed to Sanjay Jaju in June. While Ranjan declined to comment on his future plans, his departure follows recent public criticism from Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy regarding the performance of certain senior officials.
