Jaylen Brown hosts farewell festival in Boston after Celtics trade

Jaylen Brown hosted the ‘741 Frequency Fest’ at Boston Common, a massive community celebration marking his departure from the Boston Celtics after ten seasons. The event, which drew approximately 15,000 attendees, served as a farewell to the city where he helped secure the 2024 NBA championship.

During the festivities, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu presented Brown with a key to the city and a commemorative street sign titled ‘Jaylen Brown Way.’ The celebration featured musical performances by artists including Lil Baby, A$AP Ferg, and Joyner Lucas. Brown expressed deep gratitude to the community, stating, ‘I just want to say thank you to Boston, thank you to the city, and I love you.’

Following a blockbuster offseason trade, Brown is set to begin his debut season with the Philadelphia 76ers. He has expressed a highly competitive mindset heading into the new season, noting his intention to compete at the highest level alongside teammates such as LeBron James, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey.
