Jayson Tatum addresses relationship with Jaylen Brown after trade

Jayson Tatum has addressed ongoing speculation regarding his relationship with former teammate Jaylen Brown following a blockbuster trade that sent Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers. Speaking on The Dan Patrick Show, Tatum dismissed various narratives and opinions, stating, “For me, I love that guy.”

Tatum highlighted their nine-year tenure together with the Boston Celtics, noting their shared accomplishments including five Eastern Conference Finals appearances, two NBA Finals trips, and a 2024 championship. He emphasized that while the business of basketball means players do not always play together forever, their history should be celebrated rather than viewed with sadness.

The comments follow previous remarks from Brown, who had indicated that the two had not spoken much since the trade. Tatum characterized the rumors of relationship strain as attempts to pit the two players against one another, reiterating that he has “nothing but respect” for Brown.
