Jay‑Z Documentary ‘JAŸ‑Z IN 8’ Set to Premiere on HBO This Fall

HBO Documentary Films and Tetragrammaton are launching an eight‑part series titled “JAŸ‑Z IN 8,” which will debut this fall and stream on HBO Max in the United States. The series is directed by legendary producer Rick Rubin, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Daniel Kaluuya and Jay‑Z himself. Producers Leila Mattimore and David Rohde are handling production.

The documentary consists of an extended, in‑depth conversation between Jay‑Z and Rubin, covering the rapper’s musical career, lyrical themes, early years in Brooklyn, and his approach to business and creativity. A teaser clip released by HBO shows the two discussing the creation of “99 Problems” and other milestones from Jay‑Z’s catalog.
