Jazeera Airways resumes direct flights between Kuwait and Deir ez-Zor

Jazeera Airways has launched its first direct flights between Kuwait and Deir ez-Zor, Syria, marking the return of international air connectivity to the region after a 14-year hiatus. The airline will operate two flights per week, a move aimed at meeting increasing travel demand and facilitating movement for residents in the Gulf.

Omar Al-Hosari, head of the Civil Aviation and Air Transport Authority, stated that the resumption of flights serves as a pillar for supporting development, facilitating citizen movement, and stimulating economic and investment activity in the strategically important province.

Following the rehabilitation of Deir ez-Zor International Airport, the facility recently resumed operations with domestic flights from Damascus and international flights from Kuwait. During the airport's reopening, Ahmed al-Sharaa announced an integrated development plan for the eastern region, which includes upgrading infrastructure, health sectors, roads, and bridges, as well as establishing an industrial city.
