Jazz and blues festivals scheduled in Brazil
Two distinct jazz and blues festivals are set to take place in Brazil. In the Vila de Arajara district of Barbalha, the 5th edition of the Arajara Jazz and Blues Festival will run from November 19 to 21. The free event features 12 musical acts, including Dextape, Gaby Hardman, and the Old Cat Blues Band, alongside gastronomic and creative fairs. The festival aims to promote local artists and regional culture near the Chapada do Araripe.
In Maranhão, the 17th Lençóis Jazz and Blues Festival will feature five days of programming. The festivities include performances in São Luís at the Convento das Mercês before moving to Barreirinhas. The lineup includes musicians such as Djalma Chaves, Nosly, and Benoit Crauste, with musical tributes planned for Ray Charles. The event also hosts a creative fair and a vinyl fair.
