Jazz Chisholm Jr. expresses desire to stay with Yankees despite postseason exit
Following the New York Yankees' postseason exit, second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. has addressed his future with the team amidst speculation regarding his free agency. Despite being booed by home fans during Game 3 of the American League Division Series against the Tampa Bay Rays, Chisholm expressed a strong desire to remain in the Bronx.
Chisholm noted a lack of communication from the organization after being left out of the starting lineup for the critical game, stating he would have preferred a conversation to know what to expect. He expressed confusion over the crowd's reaction, noting, “It’s just confusing because it’s the playoffs and we’re trying to win games.”
Despite a statistical dip this season—finishing with a .231 batting average, 19 home runs, and 41 stolen bases—Chisholm emphasized his lifelong connection to the franchise. He stated, “I grew up as a Yankee fan... Who doesn't want to stay with the team you have such great times with?” His future remains a focal point of the Yankees' offseason as he enters the free market.
