Jazz ensembles Perujazz, Java Queens, and Casimiro announce upcoming performances
Several prominent jazz ensembles in Latin America have announced upcoming performances and milestones.
In Peru, the iconic group Perujazz will conclude its artistic cycle with a farewell concert titled ‘Perujazz – 40 años de fusión viva’ on October 15 at the Gran Teatro Nacional. Founded in Lima in 1984, the band is recognized for blending jazz with Afro-Peruvian and Andean musical roots. Current members Manongo Mujica, Jean Pierre Magnet, Andrés Prado, César ‘Pudy’ Ballumbrosio, and Julio Zavala will continue their musical careers through individual projects.
In Argentina, the vocal trio Java Queens is set to celebrate 10 years of musical history with a performance on October 3 at the J. C. Bustriazo Ortiz auditorium in Santa Rosa. The group specializes in classic swing and jazz from the 1920s and 1930s using three-part vocal arrangements.
Additionally, El Quinteto de Jazz Casimiro, led by Lucas Acuña, will perform at Puerta 276 on October 23. The quintet focuses on contemporary Argentine jazz, incorporating elements of rock and psychedelia into their original compositions.
