Jazz expands 5G network and JazzCash digital user base in Pakistan
Jazz, a major Pakistani mobile operator, has achieved significant milestones in both digital finance and network infrastructure. Its subsidiary, JazzCash, has surpassed 62 million registered customers. During the twelve months ending June 30, 2026, the platform processed approximately $70 billion (Rs19.6 trillion) in Gross Transaction Value, representing a 67.5 percent year-on-year increase.
JazzCash has also expanded its merchant network to 1.7 million Raast QR-enabled merchants, facilitating digital payments for retailers and micro-entrepreneurs. This growth aligns with national efforts in Pakistan to reduce cash reliance.
In telecommunications, Jazz has become the first operator in Pakistan to reach 1,000 live 5G sites, covering 10 major cities. This expansion follows a spectrum auction where the company added 190 MHz to its holdings, increasing its total spectrum from 94.4 MHz to 284.4 MHz. The company aims to activate 2,500 live 5G sites by the end of 2026.
