Jazz festivals hold seasonal performances across Spain

Various jazz festivals in Spain have recently held significant performances and seasonal openings. In Catalonia, the 36th edition of the L’Hora del Jazz – Memorial Tete Montoliu festival has commenced, featuring the Héctor Tejedo Trío at La Cripta de l’Emita. The trio, consisting of Héctor Tejedo, Danilo Tarso, and Lluís Naval, performed a tribute to Duke Ellington, blending traditional jazz with contemporary hip-hop and pop influences. The performance also served as a tribute to the late cultural promoter Guim Cifré.

In the Valencian community, the 33rd edition of the L’Alfàs en Jazz festival concluded with a performance by the Ximo Tebar Band. The event integrated music with literature and visual arts, featuring Tebar’s new books and works by emerging artists such as Estefanía Serrano and Hugo García. Local officials noted the festival's success in bringing diverse jazz formats to both residents and visitors.
