Jazz Gitti receives Lower Austria Medal of Honor

Austrian entertainer Martha Butbul, widely known as Jazz Gitti, has been awarded the Medal of Honor of Lower Austria. The award was presented by Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner on August 11, 2026.

Jazz Gitti, an 80-year-old singer and performer, was recognized for her decades-long career in the Austrian entertainment industry. Mikl-Leitner praised her as a “true original” and a role model, noting her resilience in facing a recent cancer diagnosis while continuing to perform on stage.

Butbul’s career includes significant musical success, such as the hit song “Kränk di net,” as well as appearances in television and musical productions. She previously received the Great Decoration of Merit for Lower Austria in 2016.
