Jazz Juniors competition highlights Polish talent and international tours

The Jazz Juniors International Competition continues to serve as a global platform for emerging jazz talent. Two Polish ensembles, Jakub Paulski Trio and Superminimalism, have been awarded invitations to perform at the Toronto Jazz Festival in Canada.

Jakub Paulski Trio is noted for its improvisational approach and cohesive compositions, while Superminimalism focuses on the intersection of jazz and experimental music. The Toronto performance marks the first appearance outside of Europe for Superminimalism.

In the 2025 edition of the competition, held as part of the Kraków Jazz Week, an international jury led by Norwegian trumpeter Nils Petter Molvaer has selected six finalists from over thirty applicants. The finalists include Birds of Unknown (Slovenia), Sedno (Poland), Public Lunch (Poland), MJG Noisecript (Poland), JuMa (Poland), and Symbiosis 5 (Hungary). The competition provides winners with opportunities to connect with international promoters, festivals, and record labels.
