Jazz music events and competitions announced for Romania

Various jazz music events and competitions are scheduled to take place across Romania in late 2026.

In Cluj-Napoca, the Jazz in the Park Competition will be held from September 18 to 20 at Central Park. The event features 12 finalist bands competing for prizes totaling over 50,000 euros across seven categories. The competition drew 306 entries from more than 50 countries. The festival includes workshops, a Vinyl Fair, and activities for children.

In Suceava County, the ParKin’Jazz project will run from September 22 to October 1. This initiative transforms parking lots in Vicovu de Jos, Sucevița, Câmpulung Moldovenesc, Straja, and Rădăuți into performance spaces for contemporary jazz and new media art. The project, co-financed by the National Cultural Fund Administration, utilizes a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) to generate real-time visual graphics based on brain activity during musical performances.
