Jazz performances held at major venues in La Plata

The Teatro Argentino de La Plata hosted a sold-out concert by pianist Damián Balarino in the Ástor Piazzolla Hall. Performing with Ezequiel Tujague, Balarino presented his album “Swinging Lincoln Jazz,” which features compositions by musicians from Lincoln, his hometown.

Additionally, the group Escalandrum performed at the Teatro Ópera, presenting “Piazzolla 74.” The repertoire serves as a tribute to the two albums Astor Piazzolla recorded in Milan in 1974: “Libertango” and “Reunión cumbre.” The performance highlighted the intersection of tango and jazz, featuring arrangements of tracks such as “Años de soledad” and a 7/4 time signature version of “Libertango.”
