JBL announces Summit EVEREST flagship speaker
Harman International has announced the Summit EVEREST, a flagship 3.5-way floor-standing speaker designed to commemorate the 80th anniversary of JBL. Scheduled for release in autumn 2026, the model is priced at 12.1 million yen per unit.
As the latest evolution in the Project EVEREST lineage that began in 1985, the Summit EVEREST incorporates advanced acoustic technologies. The high-frequency system features three patented D2820 compression drivers integrated via a specialized 3-into-1 manifold and paired with a large SonoGlass HDI horn for high resolution and precise directional control.
The low-frequency system utilizes two 380mm JW380SC woofers and two 250mm JMW250SC mid-bass units. These drivers employ HC4 (Hybrid Carbon Cellulose Composite) cones, combining carbon fiber and pure pulp with a closed-cell foam core to achieve high rigidity and low weight. The speaker also features a MultiCap crossover network and JBL | IsoAcoustics custom isolation feet to minimize vibration and energy loss.
