JBL expands Quantum gaming audio lineup and software
JBL has announced a significant expansion of its Quantum gaming audio lineup and a major update to its QuantumENGINE software, unveiled around Gamescom 2026.
The hardware expansion includes the premium wireless JBL Quantum 850, which features 50mm carbon drivers, adaptive noise cancelling, and head-tracking spatial sound. The Quantum 850 is designed with sustainability in mind, offering replaceable components such as the microphone, ear cushions, and battery. Other new models include the Quantum 520 Wireless, the Xbox-certified Quantum 520X Wireless, and the wired Quantum 120, providing options across various price points.
Software updates for QuantumENGINE will roll out through late 2026. Key upcoming features include automatic game detection, macro programming via a central base station, and an AI-powered Footstep Booster designed to isolate and amplify critical in-game sounds like footsteps and reloads. The update will also introduce Nanoleaf lighting integration to enhance gaming environments.
