JBL launches Cove whole-home Wi-Fi speaker system
JBL has announced the launch of JBL Cove, a new ecosystem of whole-home Wi-Fi speakers designed to compete with established multi-room audio brands like Sonos and Bose. The series features three distinct models: the compact M1 for everyday listening, the battery-powered P1 which offers up to 14 hours of playback and Dolby Atmos support, and the flagship X1, which features four tweeters and dual woofers for high-performance audio.
The system is managed via the JBL One app, allowing users to group speakers, customize audio, and control various streaming services including Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, and Google Cast. Key technical features include Constant Sound Field for balanced room coverage, automatic self-tuning for optimal placement, and AI Sound Boost to minimize distortion at high volumes.
Additionally, the Cove series offers modularity by integrating with JBL Bar Series MK2 soundbars, where the M1 and P1 models can function as wireless rear surround speakers. The lineup is expected to be available in black and white starting in mid-September.
