JBS captures 45.6% of Brazil's hamburger market

JBS, one of the world's largest food companies, has consolidated a leading position in Brazil's hamburger sector with a 45.6% market share, combining the Seara and Friboi brands, according to Nielsen Retail Index data. The category is now present in more than 70% of Brazilian households and is growing at about 5% in volume and 7% in value each year, with an average weekly consumption of 174,000 units (around 25,000 per day).

The company is expanding its portfolio with premium and convenience products, including Seara's Blend Burger Gourmet line featuring Angus and specialty ingredients, the country's first truffle burger, the first air‑fryer‑compatible burger, and a mini‑grill burger aimed at shared‑cooking occasions. Friboi has introduced the Maturatta range of 100% beef grill burgers made from cuts such as picanha, rib, and flank, driving a 27% volume increase in 2025. JBS is also investing heavily in retail execution and point‑of‑sale solutions to accelerate category growth.

These initiatives target both everyday consumption and special occasions, reinforcing JBS's dominance and shaping the future of the Brazilian hamburger market.
