JBS seals South Korea partnership and launches clean‑label ready meals in Brazil
JBS, the global beef leader, signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korean trading firm Highland Foods Co., Ltd. to increase the presence of JBS products in South Korea and other Asian markets. The agreement was formalised during the Brazil‑Korea Business Roundtable in São Paulo, with JBS board chair Jerry O’Callaghan and Highland Foods founder‑CEO Young Mi Youn present. The partnership aligns with the state visit of South Korean President Lee Jae‑myung and ongoing Mercosur‑Korea trade negotiations.
At the same time, JBS subsidiary Seara launched a clean‑label ready‑meal (marmita) line in São Paulo, aimed at health‑conscious Brazilian consumers. The range, marketed as “clean label” with recognizable ingredients and home‑style recipes, enters a domestic market estimated at R$12 billion. Seara CEO João Campos said the launch seeks to bring scale, consistency and quality to a segment that “already exists and is growing rapidly.” The products include dishes such as feijoada, shredded chicken and beef with vegetables.
