JBS truck completes 500,000 km using 100% biodiesel

JBS has announced that one of its trucks has completed over 500,000 kilometers using 100% biodiesel (B100) without any vehicle modifications. The test, conducted over three years, involved a heavy-duty vehicle traveling daily between Lins, São Paulo, and the Port of Santos. The truck operated under demanding conditions, including steep mountain terrain while carrying loads of up to 74 tons.

The company reported no engine failures, increased component wear, or significant differences in fuel consumption compared to conventional diesel. The B100 fuel used in the project is produced by Biopower, a JBS company, utilizing bovine processing residues and used cooking oil as part of a circular economy strategy.

This initiative is part of a broader testing program by the transport division TRS. Since the project began in 2023, the total fleet using exclusively B100 has accumulated more than 1.1 million kilometers. Other vehicles in the fleet are also utilizing the biofuel for transporting live cattle.
