JCB launches 3CX Plus backhoe excavator from Sorocaba plant in Brazil

JCB has begun production of its new 3CX Plus backhoe excavator at the Sorocaba factory in São Paulo state, replacing the long‑running 3CX model. The launch is part of a strategy to double the company’s Brazilian operations by 2030 and lift its market share in the construction, equipment‑rental and agribusiness sectors from roughly 30 % to 40 % of units sold.

The 3CX Plus is powered by a JCB DieselMax 444 engine delivering 92 hp and 408 Nm of torque. It features a variable‑displacement piston hydraulic pump providing 150 L/min flow, a redesigned ROPS/FOPS‑certified cabin, and an enhanced climate system with 21 diffusers for operator comfort. Company directors highlighted the model’s technological advances and versatility as key to increasing productivity on work sites.
