JCCL commercializes container-type CO2 recovery device
JCCL, a company specializing in CO2 separation and recovery technology, has commercialized a new container-type device known as VPSA2. Developed in collaboration with Toyo Seikan Group Holdings, the device utilizes a proprietary amine-containing gel solid adsorbent originally developed at Kyushu University. The VPSA2 is designed to recover approximately 30kg of CO2 per day from low-concentration sources, such as city gas combustion exhaust, achieving a purity level of 99% or higher. The system is housed in a 20-foot container, making it suitable for small-to-medium scale factories and research facilities. General orders for the device are scheduled to begin in October 2026.
In a separate strategic move to accelerate social implementation, Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) invested in JCCL on July 31. The partnership aims to combine DNP’s precision coating and manufacturing technologies with JCCL’s selective CO2 permeation materials. The companies plan to develop demonstration machines for membrane separation CO2 recovery technology by fiscal year 2028, with long-term goals of scaling the technology for industrial use and implementing circular services involving CO2 utilization.
