JD and Usha Vance travel to Alaska for midterm campaign

Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, traveled to Alaska on October 5, 2026, for a midterm campaign event. The family arrived via aircraft, accompanied by their four-year-old daughter, Mirabel, and their nine-week-old son, Alec Neel.

During the arrival, video footage captured Usha Vance briefly losing her balance while descending the stairs of the aircraft while carrying the infant in a baby carrier. She regained her footing using the railings and continued toward personnel without injury to herself or the child. JD Vance arrived on the aircraft shortly after with their daughter.
