JD Vance and Ivanka Trump exchange words during Xi Jinping's White House visit

During Chinese President Xi Jinping’s three-day state visit to the White House, a lip-reading expert has analyzed a private exchange between Vice President JD Vance and Ivanka Trump. According to expert Nicola Hickling, Vance appeared to comment on Donald Trump’s role during the diplomatic event, allegedly stating, “He’s having his moment. So proud of how far it’s all come. How crazy is that?” Hickling reported that Ivanka Trump responded with a warning, saying, “Aww, don’t say that. Let him shine,” and adding, “We’re outta the woods now.”

The exchange occurred as the group watched a military review during Xi Jinping’s arrival. The state visit focused on high-level discussions regarding trade, artificial intelligence, and broader U.S.-China relations. As part of the visit, Xi Jinping also announced a student exchange program that would invite 100,000 young Americans to visit China over the next five years. The reported conversation between Vance and Trump has not been confirmed by official transcripts or recordings.
