JD Vance calls for change in U.S. military leadership culture

Vice President JD Vance stated that the United States has won almost no wars over the past 40 years, calling for a fundamental change in military leadership culture. Speaking at a press conference regarding the resignation of Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, Vance noted that both Driscoll and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth are his friends.

Vance criticized the political leadership at the White House and the Department of Defense for four decades of “military adventures” that failed to yield victories. He expressed strong support for Secretary Hegseth’s efforts to “rekindle the warrior spirit” within the U.S. armed forces and rebuild combat capabilities.

The resignation of Daniel Driscoll reportedly stems from disagreements with Hegseth. Driscoll, who previously participated in U.S. efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, is expected to leave his post in the coming days.
